I'm a Big Kid Now

We've reached a new milestone.

Olivia got a big girl bed. She has told me several times today, "Oh, I love this big girl bed!"

She also reminds me that Daddy and Uncle Scott (Un-ca Scott) put her big girl bed together!! She's really proud of it.

She took her first nap as a big girl yesterday.

She likes me to make a square around her with all the pillows before she goes to sleep.

I've moved some things around in her room since the addition of the full-size bed.

So this is Olivia's room now...

The bedding is PBK that I got off of Ebay. The round polka-dot pillow was a score at TJMaxx. I'm on the hunt for curtains, and I have a nightstand that needs to be refinished to put beside the bed.

As a side-note, this is what flew directly over our house this afternoon...

Of course, this was just the highlight of Olivia's day!!

Supposedly, cooler weather is on it's way for the weekend! I can't wait!

Happy fall, ya'll!

Per Olivia's Request

Olivia asked me today to get her Halloween bag off the top shelf of her closet.

She promptly proceeded to scour her room for "treasures" to fill her bag. She has Weebles, stuffed animals, building blocks, church invite cards and who know what else in there!

She came out proudly and announced that she wanted her picture taken with her Halloween bag.

So here she is!

Just a Quick Day Trip

We decided to make a trip up to Asheville today and spend the afternoon at Biltmore Estates.

Kevin and I love Biltmore, and despite the fact that we've visited countless times, this was Olivia's first trip!

We packed a picnic lunch and hit the road early this morning. Olivia really enjoyed herself.

Here are some pictures from today. We can't wait to go back when it gets a little cooler!

The flowers were spectacular!

Running on the esplanade in front of the house.

Even the reflecting ponds were in bloom!

We had a picnic by the East Broad River on the Estate.

Olivia loves blowing bubbles.

Time to hydrate!

We had ice cream at the Creamery in the new Antler Hill Village.

View of The Inn from Antler Hill Village.
If you have the privileged of visiting Biltmore, it's soooooo worth it to stay at The Inn!!

The leaves are changin', ya'll!

First Friday

Today marks the first Friday of the Clemson football season!

Clemson opens the season tomorrow at home against Troy.

One!-Two!-Three!-Four! One!-Two!-Three!-Four!
C-L-E-M-S-O-N T-I-G-E-Rrrrrrrrr-S! Fight, Tigers! Fight, Tigers! Fight! Fight! Fight!

As is tradition, the start of Clemson football is marked with the First Friday parade immediately followed by the pep-rally!

I haven't been to a First Friday festivity since I was a student at CU, so it was high time I go and take Olivia, too!

That's my little Tiger!

If I had a VW Bug, it would soooooo be Clemson orange!

I remember the floats of my day being bigger and grander.
Budget cuts hurt everyone!

Only at Clemson!

This was Olivia's favorite float!
We love us some Christian chicken!!

This dog deserved a float of his own!
I wonder if Bailey would let me paint him up like a Tiger??
This would be too cute for Halloween!

After the parade, we walked around on Clemson's "sacred soil" (Bowman Field) where Olivia wanted to get in on a volleyball game with some big boys (they looked to be CU seniors.)

Then we ended up at the soccer field for the pep-rally!

Our last stop was the football stadium (i.e. where magic happens in Clemson!)

Her blood runneth orange!

Clemson football is finally here!
