Details

I wasn't impressed with the pics I posted yesterday. I had approximately 23.4 seconds to take them before I had to lay Little Girl down for her afternoon noozie.

Sooo, I wanted to post some more detailed pics today.

This bedroom redo started with this pillow I found at TJMaxx.

This molding above the bed was 100% my project. I did all the measuring, cutting, holding, leveling, nailing and painting myself!! I'm so proud of it!

Leigh

I Get an A++!

When it comes to procrastination I get an A. Plus. PLUS!

It's been since March that I last posted an update on our bathroom/bedroom redo (that's 3 months, people!) and I've spent that long procrastinating. Delaying. Coming up with better things to do than paint, sand, scrub, clean (did I mention paint yet?)

In my defense, March came along and brought with it gorgeous Spring weather, so instead of working inside, Olivia and I spent our time outside enjoying the mild, sunny days. But, recently, since the outside temps have been such that the Devil himself would be comfortable right here in the great state of South Cackalacky, it's forced me to stay inside and get stuff D.O.N.E!

This is were we started with our bathroom...

Bathroom before.

Bathroom after.

Cabinet before.

Remember my $45 cabinet from the Habitat ReStore?? We cut off the towel bar at the bottom, cut off the extra wood at the top, added crown molding and "Voila!" It's one of my favorite additions to the bathroom!

Cabinet after.

I have been working diligently in our bedroom, too, over the last 2 weeks. Everything has been touched with a paintbrush--walls, ceiling, baseboards, crown molding, window casings.

Bedroom before.

Bedroom after.

There are still a few things I need to do in the way of accessorizing. I would like to find some sort of sconces to hang on either side of the picture above the bed, and I have 2 mirrors that need to be hung above both nightstands.

Before.

After.

Before.

Top of our armoire.

I still have some little things to finish here and there, but for the most part I can finally cross these two rooms off of my "to-do list!"

Sincerely,

Leigh

Me Likey A Lot

I have several unfinished projects laying around the house--this being one of them.

I got this at a yard sale just up the road from us in the golf course community! I instantly liked it, but really didn't know what I was going to do with it. So it sat around without a purpose for weeks upon weeks until it finally hit me! I had a vision!!

This is what I came up with...

Just a little spray paint, some sanding, a homemade "C" stencil and a few indoor plants and bibbidi-bobbidi-boo, a beautiful planter that I really do love!!

Sincerely,

Leigh

Here's a Fun Fact...

I like to keep a few of these ready-to-go Gerber meals on hand for days when I need to get Olivia fed in 30 seconds. They come in different varieties, and she likes them (she eats the veggies, too) which is why I'm a fan!

Here's the fun fact:

The cartons inside can be washed an reused!

I have several of these babies around the house stuffed in different drawers as "freebie" organizers! They work wonders for all of Olivia's little hair bows and rubber bands. (The black container is a tray from a Lean Cuisine meal.)

Frugal. Yet fantastic!

Share this fun fact with all your friends and neighbors!

Sincerely,

Leigh

Get On the Home Goods Train!

I love to go to Home Goods. The unfortunate thing is that, for me, it's hard to get away so that I can go by myself. Or with my Mom. She's the only other person on the planet that would go with me because, like me, she doesn't mind spending an afternoon in one store sorting, and pouring and deliberating on everything in the store!

I can't take Olivia. She would whine. She wouldn't sit in the buggy, she wouldn't sit in her stroller, she wouldn't want to walk and she wouldn't want to be held. It's an impossible situation.

I can't take Kevin. He would whine. Then he would say, "That's how much?!" And I would roll my eyes. And Kevin would get mad and go out to sit in the car. It's an impossible situation.

Anyway, so, Mama, if you're reading this, we should set up a date to go to Home Goods. Just the two of us. Because we're two partridges in a pear tree when it comes to shopping. Because you won't whine or roll your eyes. And because I love ya!

Everyone can check out Rhoda's blog at Southern Hospitality. She's giving away a $100 Home Goods gift card! I've already entered to win, and you can, too! Good luck to ya (but, really, I hope I win :) )

Sincerely,

Leigh
